The Nasci does everything so well, with the minimum of fuss. The lightweight Ci4+ Body balances rods superbly well, the rotation is smooth and powerful, and the front drag is responsive and smooth. 

Internally the Nasci features HAGANE Gear and X-SHIP, two of Shimano’s leading engineering technologies. These combine to produce smooth, powerful rotation, which is extremely efficient when under pressure and will also ensure your reel will keep working at peak performance almost indefinitely.

The addition of the latest Silent Drive technology moves performance to an even higher level, with whisper quiet operation. 

Casting is enhanced by a combination of ultra smooth line lay and an AR-C spool and additional water protection is provided by Coreprotect (IPX4) on line roller and the roller bearing. PRODUCT TECHNOLOGIES:

HAGANE is a Shimano reel design concept created to withstand continual use and extreme abuse. HAGANE is an innovation with built-in toughness and durability that works alongside Shimano's precision engineering. HAGANE is for all anglers.

The HAGANE DRIVE Gear is produced by Shimano’s coldforging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers a longlasting smoothness, strength, lightness
and power at the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.

X-SHIP is a combination of features that work together to create much greater efficiency. By positioning the pinion gear close to the centre line of the large diameter drive gear, more power is transferred from the handle to the rotor. The pinion gear is also supported by two Shimano ARB roller bearings. This creates more stability.

SILENT DRIVE - Removed ‘clicking’ sound and ‘handle play’ and overall improved smooth reeling.

CORE PROTECT - The water-repellent treatment provides water-resistance even in the presence of minute gaps due to the water bead formation effect. The water resist effect can be improved without increasing rotational resistance. Furthermore, since there is no contact, there is no abrasion and the waterproofing effect lasts longer.

G FREE BODY - G Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel’s center of gravity closer to the rod. This has been achieved by moving the worm shaft oscillation mechanism 19mm from the bottom of the reel to the top. By moving the center of gravity closer to the anglers hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.

ARC SPOOL - Shimano ARC Spool is a patented spool design with an angled spool lip. This design enables the line to leave the spool with less friction and in smaller coils resulting in longer more accurate casts. ARC spools are proven to reduce backlash and wind knots when using braid. 

The CROSS CARBON DRAG material provides a wider range of drag settings compared to traditional drag materials. The Cross Carbon Drag provides the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever while providing anglers with increased durability.
